1 dead, 1 injured in domestic assault, barricade incident in Whittemore
WHITTEMORE, Mich. (WNEM) – A suspect died and a victim was seriously injured in a felonious domestic assault incident in Whittemore on Wednesday night, March 5, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).
MSP said West Branch Post troopers responded to a home in the 300 block of North Street at about 3:45 p.m.
Police said the victim was able to leave the home after suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim is receiving medical treatment and is in good condition, according to MSP.
When troopers arrived, the 45-year-old suspect barricaded himself inside the home. After the Emergency Support Team tried to make contact for several hours, troopers found the man dead in the attached garage.
No other injuries were reported, and the incident is under investigation.
MSP said if you are experiencing domestic violence, call 211 to be connected to local resources that can help, and call 911 in emergency situations.

One man is dead, and a woman is in critical condition following a fatal domestic disturbance.
TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) – A 29-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday evening following a domestic disturbance in Two Rivers.
According to the Two Rivers Police Department, authorities received a report around 4 p.m. regarding a suspect involved in a domestic incident at a residence on the city’s east side.

Officers, along with deputies from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene and remained there for approximately 45 minutes before the suspect, identified as Laramie Strauch Jr., exited the residence and was taken into custody.

Strauch Jr. was transported to the Manitowoc County Jail on multiple domestic violence-related charges, several drug-related offenses, and a probation warrant.
Authorities stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. No additional details were provided.
