Blond Pitt looked suave and swayed the masses in the clip when he added: “When we are bound by a common goal, we’ve reached heights, authored achievements, pushed progress, not alone, but together.”
Cruise’s Super Bowl ad earned some attention too – but it was for his taut and “stretched” face.

Tom Cruise has been locked in a silent but fierce battle with Brad Pitt for over the last three decades, and it seems that the rivalry is far from over. The beef which apparently started on the set of Interview with the Vampire in 1994 has lingered on, at least in Cruise’s mind, but now, the competition has taken a new, unsettling turn for the action star.
Pitt, at 61, just scored another win with his effortlessly charismatic Super Bowl commercial, delivering a unifying message that resonated with audiences. “When we are bound by a common goal, we’ve reached heights, authored achievements, pushed progress, not alone, but together,” the ‘Fight Club’ actor said. Looking effortlessly suave, he captivated viewers with his easy charm and golden-boy aura.
Meanwhile, Cruise’s own Super Bowl appearance had people talking but for all the wrong reasons. Instead of praise, he found himself scrutinized for his overly taut and “stretched” features.
The harsh reactions reportedly stung Cruise, who had meticulously prepared for the big day, fully aware that his ad would be stacked up against Pitt’s.

David Hyde Pierce, an actor, director and comedian, was born in Saratoga Springs.
Pierce is known for his portrayal of psychiatrist Niles Crane on the NBC sitcom “Frasier”. He has acted in films like “Crossing Delancey”, “Sleepless in Seattle”, and “The Perfect Host”. He also voiced roles in Disney Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life” and “Treasure Planet”.
The Capital Region native will next star as Major General W.S. Gilbert in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s “The Pirates of Penzance,” starting in April 2025.
His prestigious list of achievements include five Golden Globe Awards nominations, four Primetime Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Philip Andre “Mickey” Rourke, Jr., an actor, screenwriter and retired boxer, was born in Schenectady, around 20 miles northwest of Albany.
Rourke starred in films like “Body Heat”, “Rumble Fish”, and “Johnny Handsome”. He also appeared in several commercially successful films like “Iron Man 2”, “The Expendables” and “Immortals”.
Rourke was last seen in 2024 action-thriller “Jade,” directed by James Bamford.
Rourke has received a Golden Globe Award, the BAFTA Award, and an Academy Award nomination. He has also won awards from the National Society of Film Critics, Chicago Film Critics Association, the Irish Film and Television Awards and the Online Film Critics Society.

Rachael Domenica Ray, a celebrity cook, television personality, businesswoman, and author, was born in Glens Falls, just south of Lake George.
Ray is best known for hosting the syndicated daily talk and lifestyle program “Rachael Ray.” She also played herself in the Netflix revival of “Gilmore Girls” in 2016, as well as the final episode of the show “The Curse” in 2024.
Her TV shows have won three Daytime Emmy Awards.
Rachel Ray continues to return to her Upstate New York and recommended several Adirondack restaurants to visitors coming to town.

Thomas James Kenny, an actor and comedian, was born in Syracuse.
He is best known for voicing the titular character in “SpongeBob SquarePants” and associated media since its debut in 1999. Kenny has voiced many other characters, including Heffer Wolfe in “Rocko’s Modern Life”, the Ice King in “Adventure Time”, the Narrator and Mayor in “The Powerpuff Girls” and Starscream in “Transformers: Animated”.
In 2024, Tom Kenny voiced SpongeBob SquarePants’ character on Nickelodeon in real-time during Super Bowl LVIII, as part of Paramount’s family-friendly “alternative” Super Bowl telecast.
Kenny has won two Daytime Emmy Awards and two Annie Awards.

Amy Louise Sedaris, an actor, comedian, and writer, was born in Endicott, 15 minutes east of Binghamton along the Susquehanna River.
She is best known for her role as Jerri Blank in the Comedy Central series “Strangers with Candy,” as well as voicing Princess Carolyn in the Netflix animated comedy-drama series “BoJack Horseman”. She is also the creator and star of the critically acclaimed comedy series “At Home with Amy Sedaris”.
Sedaris has also authored multiple books, including “I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence,” which was on the New York Times bestseller list for 12 weeks.
The Southern Tier actor will next be seen (or rather, heard) in “Smurfs”, set to debut this July.
Sedaris has received a Writers Guild of America Award and two nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award.

Viggo Peter Mortensen, Jr., an American actor, musician and filmmaker, was born in Watertown.
He is best known for his role as Aragorn in the fantasy trilogy “The Lord of the Rings”. Other films to his credit include “The Road”, “Eastern Promises”, and “Captain Fantastic”.
Mortensen also directed and starred in “Falling,” in which he plays a character living in California, far from his upbringing in Upstate New York. The movie filmed some scenes in Northern NY where the actor spent his formative years.
“In an indirect way it is a salute to the North County and to New York state,” he said in an interview with syracuse.com and The Post-Standard.
Mortensen has received nominations for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, three BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and an Independent Spirit Award.
