The “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special has come and gone — so, will there be a new episode of the sketch comedy show tonight?

No, there won’t be a new episode of “SNL” on Saturday, Feb. 22. The show has been on a temporary break since Timothée Chalamet’s double duty performance on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The next new episode will be on Saturday, March 1, with host Shane Gillis and musical guest Tate McRae. Lady Gaga will serve as both host and musical guest during the following episode on Saturday, March 8.

In place of a new episode of “SNL,” NBC will re-air Bad Bunny’s October 2023 double duty performance on Saturday, March 1.

Gillis and McRae’s show will be the first new episode of “SNL” since “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” which aired live on Sunday, Feb. 16, and is now available to stream on Peacock.

Gillis previously hosted the sketch comedy show in February 2024. He also had a brief stint as an “SNL” cast member in 2019. He was hired for season 45 and fired five days later after podcast clips resurfaced of him making racist remarks about Chinese people.

The standup comedian’s second hosting gig comes after “SNL” creator and showrunner Lorne Michaels suggested that Gillis never should’ve been fired to begin with.

“He said something stupid, but it got blown up into the end of the world,” Michaels told the Wall Street Journal in October 2024. “I was angry. I thought, ‘You haven’t seen what we’re going to do, and what I’m going to try to bring out in him,’ because I thought he was the real thing.”

The next two “SNL” musical guests have also appeared on the show before. McRae made her “SNL” musical guest debut in November 2023 when Jason Momoa was hosting. Lady Gaga, meanwhile, has been the musical guest three times — October 2009, May 2011, and October 2016 — in addition to doing double duty in November 2013.

“Saturday Night Live” airs Saturdays on NBC and Peacock at 11:30 p.m. EST.

TINTED SPF, PORTABLE PILLOWS AND MORE — HERE’S THE ULTIMATE PACKING LIST FOR SPRING TRAVEL

“Saturday Night Live” has pulled out all the stops for its golden anniversary season.

In the middle of Season 50, the legendary sketch comedy show celebrated its milestone birthday on Feb. 16 with a live three-hour show, “SNL50: The Anniversary Special.”

The blowout bash featured live comedy and music as well as appearances from some of the show’s most beloved former cast members, including Molly Shannon, Kristen Wiig, Rachel Dratch, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Kate McKinnon and more.

“SNL” also toasted its birthday with a star-studded live three-hour concert on Feb. 14 that featured some of the show’s favorite musical acts. It also debuted two different docuseries about the show’s history on Peacock.

“SNL” last aired a new episode on Jan. 25 when Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet pulled double duty as host and musical guest. Chalamet followed comedian Dave Chappelle, who kicked off the second half of the 2024-2025 season when he hosted on Jan. 18.

Here’s everything to know about this weekend’s “SNL.”

Bad Bunny dressed in playful drag again when he and actor Pedro Pascal joined forces for a sequel to Pascal’s hilarious “Protective Mom” sketch.

Then at 11:30 p.m. ET, NBC will re-broadcast an episode from Season 50, featuring Paul Mescal as host and Shaboozey as musical guest.

To continue Season 50, comedian Shane Gillis will host a new episode of “SNL” on March 1 with Tate McRae as musical guest. Then, Lady Gaga will pull double duty on March 8.

“SNL” got the ball rolling for its birthday festivities in January when it debuted two different docuseries about the show’s history on Peacock: the four-part “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” and “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” co-directed by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson.

On Feb. 14, former “SNL” star Jimmy Fallon hosted a live three-hour concert, featuring performances by Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Jelly Roll, Chris Martin and more. “SNL” also toasted its beginnings on Feb. 15 when it aired its groundbreaking debut episode from October 1975.

Finally, on Feb. 16, the show hosted the ultimate birthday party with the three-hour show, “SNL50: The Anniversary Special.” The live extravaganza featured past and present cast members along with celebrity guests including Meryl Streep (in her “SNL” sketch debut!), Paul Simon, Sabrina Carpenter, Steve Martin and Paul McCartney.
