Miami Heat star Tyler Herro wins 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest
Heat All-Star Tyler Herro held off Buddy Hield and a Damian Lillard 3-peat to win the 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest.
Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro holds the trophy after winning the 2025 Starry 3-Point Contest.
SAN FRANCISCO — Three is greater than two … and one.
In the Starry 3-point Contest at State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, two of the 27 shots are worth three points apiece. And the Miami Heat’s Tyler Herro drained both of the long-distance 3-point shots in the final round on his way to a score of 24 points. That was enough to edge the Golden State Warriors’ Buddy Hield to win the trophy.
After registering the best score in the competition (31 points in the first round), Hield shot last in the final and missed his first seven shots. He was able to rally, but needed to make all five shots in his final rack (his money ball rack in the left corner) to top Herro. He connected on the first three, but came up short on the fourth, losing by one point after draining the final shot.
Darius Garland was the third finalist, finishing with a score of 19, making just 11 of his 19 shots. Two-time defending champion Damian Lillard was eliminated in the first round, finishing with a score of 18, unable to drain any of the long-distance shots and making just four of his nine money balls.
Herro is the Heat’s fourth 3-point Contest winner, joining Glen Rice (1995), Daequan Cook (2009) and James Jones (2011).

Tracking the results of the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest
Brendan O’Sullivan tracks the latest updates and highlights from the 2025 Slam Dunk Contest.
Acrobatic slams and ferocious dunks make the Slam Dunk Contest one of the most exciting events of All-Star weekend. If done correctly, these dunks will live on highlight reels for decades.
Take Zach LaVine vs. Aaron Gordon or Vince Carter’s 2000 performance. Perhaps you prefer Michael Jordan’s leap from the free throw line, Dwight Howard’s Superman dunk or Nate Robinson jumping over Howard.
No matter what your favorite dunk contest moment is, each year brings an opportunity to make more memories. The 2025 Slam Dunk Contest will feature Mac McClung, Stephon Castle, Andre Jackson Jr. and Matas Buzelis. McClung is a two-time defending champion and is looking to become the first player to ever three-peat the event.
Only Robinson has won three Slam Dunk Contest titles, but he didn’t accomplish this in consecutive years. McClung can make history this year.
Follow along below as DraftKings Network tracks all of the highlights from Saturday night’s 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.
McClung is the favorite at -190 entering the event. Here are the odds for the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on DraftKings Sportsbook

10:33 p.m.: OK, OK. Castle does a 360, behind-the-back dunk with his left hand. This acrobatic dunk gets a 50.
10:31 p.m.: NO WORDS. NO. WORDS. McClung jumps over someone spinning on a hoverboard, windmills that ball and dunks another ball simultaneously. Another 50 for McClung.
10:29 p.m.: WOW, Castle catches the ball out of the hoop for a between-the-legs slam. It took a couple tries, but it was emphatic. Castle gets a 49.6.
10:24 p.m.: Castle and McClung move onto the final round.
10:21 p.m.: Wow, McClung impresses the crowd again. He leaps high over someone for a powerful jam. Judges rate the dunk a 50, giving McClung two perfect scores.

10:19 p.m.: Castle gets up HIGH for this reverse alley-oop slam in the second round. He needed just a 40.3 to move on to the second round, and he earned a 47.8.

10:17 p.m.: Jackson abandons his first dunk of the second round after being unable to catch the alley-oop. He gets a 45 after finishing a windmill slam.
10:15 p.m.: Buzelis follows up his first round with an alley-oop reverse slam from the baseline. He gets a 47.4 from this one. It was a soft finish, but he earns points for being acrobatic.

10:02 p.m.: Another unfortunate performance. Jackson fails to convert on his original dunks. At least he gets on the board, earning a 43.8 score.
9:58 p.m.: Yikes … Buzelis can’t convert on his first dunk attempt. He ran from the baseline, bounced the ball, caught it through his legs but couldn’t slam home the windmill. He gets 40 points, which is the minimum.
9:54 p.m.: OK CASTLE. He kicks off the event with a 360-windmill with a low grab of the ball. He also made it on the first try. Castle gets a 47.2 off rip.

While we typically love Fubo for most sports, there’s one caveat when subscribing to Fubo specifically for NBA access, and that’s the fact that the platform doesn’t carry TNT, which will be carrying a majority of All-Star weekend coverage, including the dunk contest on Saturday. Fortunately, you can tune in to TNT, as well as ESPN, ABC, NBA TV and ESPN2 on DirecTV and Hulu with Live TV, which will give you access to all of the weekend’s events.
DIRECTV has the channels you need to watch All-Star Weekend’s basketball games live, including ABC, ESPN, TNT, FOX Sports, NBA TV & 40+ regional sports networks, making it one of the most comprehensive places to watch the NBA. You can also add on a subscription NBA League Pass so you won’t have to miss a single out-of-market game. After a free trial, packages start at $74.99/month.
Max has been “the one to watch” for entertainment fans for quite some time, but now it’s got sports fans covered, too. For an unspecified limited time, Max subscribers can get the new B/R Sports add-on totally free. That means you can watch live NBA games and All-Star Weekend coverage on TBS, TNT, and truTV, included in your Max subscription!
With NBA League Pass, you can tune into hundreds of live and on-demand games each season. A Premium plan lets fans stream on up to three devices at once with 4-game multi-view and 24/7 access to NBA TV. And now through Feb. 14, gift subscriptions are available for 30% off the regular rate; grab a 12-month subscription for someone you love for just $76.99.
