KANSAS CITY, Mo. — School districts across the Kansas City metro are closed or delayed Wednesday due to high winds and blowing snow throughout the area.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday for multiple counties on both sides of the state line.
The snow will wrap up later Wednesday morning, but the winds continue gusting 40-50mph through the evening. A high wind warning continues until 6 p.m. Wednesday.

On the Missouri side, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Liberty, North Kansas City, Park Hill and more all announced they will be closed on Wednesday.
Kansas City Public Schools will have a remote learning day.
On the Kansas side, Olathe, Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission have planned a 2-hour delayed start.
