Injury Report: Six Pelicans out for Thursday game vs. Rockets
New Orleans and Houston will make the one-hour flight back and forth between the two cities during the latter portion of this week, as the Pelicans and Rockets face each other in consecutive Southwest Division games on Thursday and Saturday. The first of those two meetings will take place tomorrow night in the Smoothie King Center at 7 p.m. (WVUE Fox 8, GCSEN on TV; WWL on radio).
On Wednesday’s official injury report, New Orleans listed six players as out, a group that includes Brandon Boston (left ankle sprain), Herb Jones (right shoulder torn rotator cuff), Dejounte Murray (right Achilles rupture), Antonio Reeves (G League on assignment), Keion Brooks Jr. (G League two-way) and Lester Quinones (G League two-way).

Although it’s been a challenging season for New Orleans, the Pelicans are playing some of their best basketball over the last few weeks. New Orleans is 4-2 over its last six games, recording four wins over a six-game stretch for just the second time this year. A healthy Williamson has been key for the team’s success as New Orleans is 4-1 over the five games he played over that stretch with its only loss coming to the Lakers, who have won seven straight games.
Williamson is averaging 25.6 ppg over that stretch, including scoring 37 points in the 136-115 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday. He’s shot better than 60% from the field in three straight games and had 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in a 124-116 win over the Suns on Thursday.
