What’s open and closed on Presidents Day 2025? Here’s what to know
Presidents Day is on Monday, Feb. 17, giving some employees and students the day off, while others will head in to work on the federal holiday.
Grocery stores, retail stores and restaurants will largely remain open on the holiday, but that will not be the case for banks, post offices, government offices and the stock market.

The holiday was originally called Washington’s Birthday and celebrates the birthdays of former presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, according to the National Archives.
