“Gaddafi Stadium Knocked Out Of Champions Trophy”: Memes Galore As India Enter ICC Event Final
With India defeating Australia in the semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025 with a four-wicket victory in Dubai on Tuesday, Pakistan will not be able to organize the final of the event of which they were the host. As per the hybrid formula agreed by Pakistan and ICC, the final now will be played in Dubai, instead of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan. This has resulted in Indian fans trolling Pakistan on social media, making fun of the hosts missing their own party.

India played all their matches in Dubai and it was agreed before the start of the tournament that India will not travel to Pakistan and thus the final will be played in Dubai if India was in contention.

South Africa v New Zealand: ICC Champions Trophy semi-final – live

Both centurions are back in the shed and it’s over to the power hitters now. Mulder gets a wicket with some brave bowling as he went for the wide yorker against Williamson who was moving around his crease. Latham is the new man (I was expecting Philips). He takes a single off his first ball, a quickly taken one to the man at mid-off.
Hundred and out! He moves across his crease to give himself room for the scoop, but Mulder follows and cramps him. The ball shoots off his bat and spoons its way towards short fine leg where Ngidi catches it above his head. Job done though from the former skipper who walks off having produced the goods yet again for his country. 94 balls for his 102.
Finally! One of the best innings you’ll see comes to an end. A cutter with some width from Rabada brings out a big drive from Ravindra but this time he doesn’t middle it. A fat edge goes straight to Klaasen to catches it clean. Muted celebrations from the South Africans but they’ll be inwardly delighted. That was a truly outstanding knock off just 101 balls. 13 fours and two sixes in the mix as well.

It’s a good effort. Daryl Mitchell just started to run amok, so he’ll be disappointed that he had the flavour but didn’t manage to hit that well.
Mitchell c Rabada b Ngidi 49 (NZ 314-5)
Some relief for South Africa.
Daryl Mitchell falls one short of a half-century but he’s played a fine knock in propelling New Zealand to a good total. Another pace-off delivery from Lungi Ngidi is miscued and this time, Kagiso Rabada makes no mistake at deep mid-wicket.

350 is definitely on for New Zealand.

There are problems for Temba Bavuma now because both these batters have the flavour. They’re dangerous when they’re like this.
Yep, Glenn Phillips is into his stride now.
Four consecutive boudaries, and South Africa ought to be worried. Two short balls are pulled to the ropes, with a sweetly-timed straight drive sandwiched in between.

BBC Test Match Special commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
It’s an unforgiving outfield. You time it and it nips across the field so quickly.
Glenn Phillips pulls firmly for four to bring up New Zealand’s 300.
It’s such a good batting pitch, though, and the outfield is rapid. They need a few more.
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
The dropped chance followed by the boundary changes the momentum.
Heads aren’t dropping for South Africa but they are a bit sloppy.
Of course, the next ball is slapped for four more.
17 from it as New Zealand surge towards 300.
NZ 290-4
Oh dear.
Mitchell tries to heave another six into the leg side but it presents a catching opportunity to Wiaan Mulder at deep square instead.
However, he completely misjudges it and eventually has to dive forward, with the ball bouncing out of his hands and away for four.
Disaster.
Don’t bowl there.
Lungi Ngidi tries a slower ball, bangs it in way too short and Daryl Mitchell gratefully launches it into the stands.
Expertly done by Kagiso Rabada again, as Phillips and Mitchell only manage singles from the over.
Rabada has varied his pace so well, and has one crucial over left to bowl in this final phase.
Ravindra’s thick outside edge to Klaasen dismisses him for 108

Now Daryl Mitchell has hit two boundaries, life seems a bit simpler.
Simon Mann

It will be a big score but we’ve seen enough cricket on this ground to know you’re never safe.
Big over.
Marco Jansen concedes 13, including two boundaries to Daryl Mitchell as he gets into his stride.
The momentum shifts back in New Zealand’s favour.
So good from Rabada.
The wicket and just four from his eighth over as South Africa continue to squeeze.
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
I think New Zealand will do well to get to 350 now. The momentum has been lost.
This is a critical period. There’s no guarantee that they can create that mayhem. Glenn Phillips can do it but he has to get in.
If South Africa can get it down to the early 300s, they will take that.
Latham b Rabada 4 (NZ 257-4)
A brief stay at the crease for Tom Latham.
He attempts to scoop Kagiso Rabada but it’s smart bowling, firing the ball in fuller and taking out middle stump.
Here comes Glenn Phillips. This could be fun.
Latham is bowled by Rabada for four
Vic Marks
Former England spinner on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
Daryl Mitchell hasn’t quite found his timing yet. He’s a mighty hitter of the ball once he gets going.
South Africa also probably won’t enjoy being reminded that Glenn Phillips is in next, and he has a pretty decent platform to work with, too.
