The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to terms with former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison on a free agent contract, according to a report by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The contract is a two-year deal worth $10 million, as the Steelers address a position where they did not have an obvious need entering the 2025 offseason.

Harrison, 27, was a third-round pick of the Ravens out of Ohio State in 2020 and has spent all five of his NFL seasons in Baltimore.

He has played in 76 games and made 34 starts for the Ravens, never starting more than eight games in a season. In 2024, he played in 15 games and made seven starts, recording 54 tackles, which was seventh on the Ravens last season and third among inside linebackers behind Rowan Smith and Trenton Simpson.

With the Steelers, it’s unclear how Harrison will fit. Starter and fellow former Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen is set to return for 2025, as is 2024 rookie Payton Wilson. Former starter Cole Holcomb is also set to return after missing the last season and a half with a knee injury. Mark Robinson is also under contract, while run-stuffer Elandon Roberts and special teamer Tyler Matakevich are unrestricted free agents.

Harrison has not been the same caliber of run-stuffer that Roberts has been for the Steelers, though he is certainly a big body at 6-foot-3 and 259 pounds. Harrison had a career-high 22.2 missed tackle percentage in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Harrison was a three-year regular at Ohio State and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2019.

The move was the second contract the Steelers agreed to on the first day of the free agent contact period on Monday. They also reportedly have a deal in place with Philadelphia Eagles outside cornerback Darius Slay.
