Jenna Ortega Puts a Disco Spin on the Skirt Suit in Versace at ‘SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert’
Jenna Ortega lit up the red carpet at last night’s “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert.” The actress wore a reflective look from Versace for the occasion.
Ortega stepped out in a gold disco ball-inspired corset from the fashion house’s spring 2025 collection. The “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” star wore the sculptural piece with the brown suede skirt it was shown with on the runway. Ortega forwent the red belt Donatella Versace styled it with and instead paired the look with a suede coat, gold strappy sandal heels, and matching minimal jewelry.

When Versace presented her spring 2025 collection in September, which recalled Donatella Versace’s shiny spring 1997 Versus collection that was shown in New York a year before Gianni Versace’s death, she touted it as a means to spark joy. “I feel it’s fashion’s responsibility to do a little bit to bring people’s spirits up,” she told WWD, adding of the 1997 collection that inspired it: “It was freedom, happiness, not too much thinking. Fashion can be something intellectual, it can do that, but we also need positivity.”
Ortega’s neutral suede skirt suit and gold corset is a stylistic pivot for the actress who has frequently favored tailored wear in somber and rich hues. Last month she put a Gothic spin on the skirt suit at Dior’s spring 2025 couture show, while wearing a monochromatic black ensemble consisting of a sleeveless blazer with a cinched waist, leather opera gloves, shorts, and sheer tights.
The actress, who embraced method dressing throughout her “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” press tour, has stepped out in custom and archival looks by Vivienne Westwood, Thom Browne and Dolce & Gabbana over the past year. For her press tour behind the sequel, Ortega frequently opted for black and white looks, skirt suits, power suits, and sculptural gowns that all played on her character in the film.
Ortega was joined on the red carpet for “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert” by a bevy of stars including Miley Cyrus, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Leslie Jones, Sandra Oh, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bowen Yang, Whoopi Goldberg, Chloe Fineman, Pete Davidson, Ayo Edebiri, Anya Taylor-Joy, Natasha Lyonne, Emily Ratajkowski, Alix Earle and more.
The concert, which took place ahead of tomorrow night’s “SNL50: The Anniversary Special,” featured performances from Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, The Roots, Nirvana, Post Malone, Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, Robyn and David Byrne.

Jenna Ortega Shines Bright in Gilded Slingback Sandals at ‘SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert’ in New York
Jenna Ortega graced the blue carpet for “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert” held at Radio City Music Hall in New York yesterday.
Ortega wasn’t the only high-octane star to attend the concert. Miley Cyrus, Pete Davidson, Bowen Yang, Tom Hanks, Tina Fey, Chris Pine, Snoop Dogg and Gayle King were just a handful of top stars that were present at the event.
Shining with each step, the “Wednesday” actress popped on a pair of gilded sandals. The chosen style included leather uppers in what looked to be a duochrome gold that shone differently depending on the lighting. Open almond-shaped toes gave way to sturdy slingback straps that wrapped around Ortega’s heels. Equally sturdy straps sat across the tops of the thespian’s toes.
Angular ribbed heels standing at around 2 to 3 inches in height rounded out the set. For those looking to emulate Ortega’s blue carpet moment, similar gold sandals can be shopped via brands like Aquazzura, Tony Bianco, Gianvito Rossi, Jimmy Choo, Dior, Valentino and Manolo Blahnik, among others.
Partnered with her high-shine footwear, the “Scream” star wore a bohemian-inspired ensemble hailing from Versace. Ortega’s look featured a gilded armored top from the designer brand’s spring 2025 collection along with a brown suede effect knee-length skirt. Layered overtop, the actress sported a suede jacket in a neutral tan hue.
Ortega often elevates her looks with height-boosting footwear on and off the red carpet. The “Wednesday” star can regularly be seen on public outings in platform-soled boots and pumps from a range of brands, including Jimmy Choo, Steve Madden and Valentino. Off-duty, she wears thick-soled Dr. Martens platform boots and Adidas sneakers.
“SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert” was a concert held at the historic Radio City Music Hall on Feb. 14, 2025, in New York. The event, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, celebrated the 50th anniversary of “SNL” and its legacy of musical performances.
