Stats view
Chakravarthy rips one in, dinks middle and off. Safe to say Phillips didn’t read the 92ks googly. Cross-seamer on a length landed just outside off
Length on middle, Phillips backs away while punching towards cover. 97ks
Not much room but it’s cut hard through point. Phillips hares through as Shreyas runs to the left across the boundary, picks up two
More like Varun. Darts in a legbreak on a length, lands around middle and scoots to leg. Hurries Phillips, who’s happy to play off the back foot. Manages to defend in front
Not with that. Shortish and sits up outside off, 97ks, cut hard. Sweeper cover runs to the right to stop it
Varun back. Batters more set, can he bamboozle them though?
Length on fifth, slapped to deep point. 97ks
Slow again, looked so at least. 96ks. Square driven off the bottom of the bat, on the bounce to point
Swept from outside off and well in front of the body too. Just 83ks. Length ball outside off, Axar likely trying to entice big shots
Sweeps it from slightly outside off, beats Axar behind square, in the ring, on the leg side. A couple brings up the fifty stand
Lunges across after taking a small stride towards off stump and drives the fullish ball through cover
Goes back and punches the length ball to long-on
Chaitanya: “Jaddu bowled 9 overs on the trot with amazing consistency. Importance of fitness.. How’re the fingers Ekanth!!” Haha all fine, happy as long as I can keep up. Tougher for the batters of course
Prasad : “3 dropped catches so far but all were tough chances”
Drinks
Gill drops one this time, running to the left from deep square leg. He slid, a bit of the turf came off as the knee went into the ground. He reached out low to the left, got both hands on it but it popped to the left, into the ground. Replays show he tried to claw the ball with ball palms coming towards the centre from the side, but the grabbage doesn’t work. Jadeja raises his hands but manages half a smile. Was a shortish ball on middle, 102ks, didn’t rise as much as Phillips expected. He, like Mitchell, went through with the pull. Got it off the base of the bat
Full around off, punched to long-off
Mitchell pulls out late, Jadeja releases and the ball hits the stumps. But all cool
Muneeb Ullah: “Mitchell was very good with his feet against spinners, he used to skip down the track and tonk the ball. Hasn’t seen him doing it of late, any reason?” Jadeja and Axar’s average pace is likely in the 90ks range, they’re too quick
Nearly a yorker but a low fully in the end, pushed to the bowler
Full on leg, 100ks, clipped to midwicket
Length on leg, 94ks, clipped through square leg
Touch short on fourth, cut to cover
Works the length ball on fourth, worked to the bowler
Rohit drops a one-hander at midwicket. He leapt up, got his right hand up but tipped it over. He falls on his back as the ball rolls into the deep. He was 27 metres away, timed his jump okay but was done for pace. Likely to be marked as a tough chance. 93ks ball wasn’t that short, Mitchell went for a powerful pull nonetheless, went flat
Length on middle, front foot slides across to the leg side while the back foot stays still. Whipped to long-on

NZ 161/4 in 37 overs
IND vs NZ LIVE Score, Final: A tough chance. Rohit couldn’t hold on to a sharp chance at mid-wicket, giving Mitchell a lifeline. Axar Patel, who has been keeping things tidy, got Mitchell to miscue a shot while trying to work the ball away, but Rohit, leaping in an attempt to grab it, could only help it over
NZ 153/4 in 35 overs
IND vs NZ LIVE Score, Final: Phillips continues to battle hard, looking for scoring opportunities despite Jadeja keeping things tight. He managed to find a gap wide of cover for a single but struggled to pierce the infield consistently in this over. A mistimed cut and a couple of firm defenses suggest he’s still searching for fluency. New Zealand need a shift in gears soon to avoid getting bogged down.
NZ 149/4 in 34 overs

He punishes a rare loose delivery from Jadeja, pulling a short ball past deep square-leg for a boundary. While Mitchell remains watchful at the other end, Phillips is looking to break the shackles

With Mitchell rotating strike at the other end, Phillips’ intent is clear, as it should be, for a no.6 batter
NZ 131/4 in 29 overs
IND vs NZ LIVE Score, Final: Phillips finally releases the pressure with a much-needed six off Kuldeep, breaking an 81-ball boundary drought for NZ. After a series of dots and tight bowling in the 27th over, Phillips picks the right moment to counterattack. Gets forward against the spinner and dispatches the delivery straight down the ground with disdain.
NZ 123/4 in 27 overs
IND vs NZ LIVE Score, Final: Glenn Phillips has joined Mitchell at the crease as New Zealand look to rebuild after losing Latham. Facing Jadeja, Phillips has been watchful, carefully negotiating the spinner’s variations while Mitchell continues to anchor the innings. With a slip in place and India maintaining relentless pressure, the duo needs to dig in and absorb the heat.
NZ 116/4 in 26 overs
India vs New Zealand LIVE Score, Champions Trophy 2025 Final: Jadeja has once again outfoxed Tom Latham, trapping him LBW, but this time with a conventional sweep gone wrong. The Kiwi batter missed a full delivery on middle, and the ball sneaked under his bat to strike him low on the pad. The umpire wasted no time raising his finger, and a desperate review only confirmed the inevitable; three reds on ball-tracking.
NZ 110/4 in 24 overs
India vs New Zealand LIVE Score, Champions Trophy 2025 Final: Jadeja nearly had Tom Latham trapped in front, but India’s review was wasted as the ball was missing the stumps. Rohit took the gamble despite Rahul expressing concerns over height, and UltraEdge confirmed no inside edge. Meanwhile, Latham and Daryl Mitchell continue to rebuild for New Zealand, working the ball around while keeping India’s spinners at bay.

LIVE: India vs New Zealand – ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final
Varun is brought back on, and he delivers yet again for his country!
New Zealand are still just four down, with some assistance from the Indian fielders.
If they can get to the final 10 overs unscathed, it will set them up beautifully for a final assault.
This is just getting ridiculous from India. Phillips, looking for the boundary hit, goes after Jadeja’s final ball. He targets the deep mid-wicket area, with Gill running round to get to the chance.
He is forced into a low forward dive, and gets to it, but grasses the chance. Jadeja raises his arms in frustration as yet another opportunity goes begging in the field.
The sequence ends the 36th over, with New Zealand 156 for 4.
New Zealand continue to battle it out. Mitchell, looking for quick runs, belts Axar towards mid-wicket.
Rohit tries to reach for it, but can’t quite get a hold of the chance as the ball bursts through. That is the third dropped catch already in this innings!
New Zealand move to 153 for 4 after 35 overs.
Just two runs from Jadeja’s eighth over.
Axar bowls yet another over of accurate left-arm spin.
The spinner walks off the field to get his spinning hand looked at afterwards, with Washington Sundar fielding in his place.
Phillips ekes out another boundary, this time with a short-arm pull behind square off Jadeja.
He misses out on a wider delivery off the final ball, throwing his head back in anguish.
Just three runs as boundaries continue to be out of reach.
Mitchell’s strike rate has plunged to 52.23, so Phillips will look to take on some more risk.
The left-arm spinner changes ends as he replaces Kuldeep.
He concedes a leg-side wide but bowls a couple of dot balls on either end of it.
Jadeja delivers another rapid over, allowing just four runs.
