Here’s The Exact Time ‘Fortnite’ Chapter 6, Season 1 Ends And Season 2 Begins
FORTNITE
The current season of Fortnite is about to end, so make sure you’ve wrapped up all your challenges and finished every tier of the Chapter 6, Season 1 Battle Pass. Only hours remain before a new season drops and the Demon Hunters season draws to a close.
A plethora of new content awaits, from major changes to the Fortnite map, new weapons, a brand new Battle Pass and much more. Chapter 6, Season 2 is a crime-themed season, replete with train heists and bank robberies. There’s a bit of a Grand Theft Auto vibe from all the promotional material. We also get some cool crossovers, the return of a fan-favorite character and what appears to be dual-wielding guns. There are also anthropomorphic pickles and hotdogs. Obviously.
Read on to learn everything you need to know about the new season, titled Lawless.
Chapter 6, Season 1 will go down around 11pm PT on Thursday, February 20th / 2am ET Friday, February 21st. Downtime typically lasts several hours so expect to see servers rumble back to life early Friday morning. At this point, you’ll be able to download the update and drop into the newly updated map.
Midas, who first made an appearance in Chapter 2, Season 2, is returning as part of the new Lawless Battle Pass. The new season seems to take a lot of cues from the first season he appeared in. While that was a spy-vs-spy season, this is more of a crime-themed affair. “Run amok in Crime City – gold vaults, Rocket Drills, and so much mayhem,” Fortnite posted to Twitter.
Along with an armored train and new banks to assault, the trailer shows players wielding an SMG and a shotgun at the same time. Dual-wielding should add an interesting wrinkle to the usual gameplay we’ve come to expect.

Another skin coming to the new Lawless Battle Pass is Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. Expect to see Mortal Kombat-themed powers in the game as well as other characters from the classic fighting game. (I’ve wanted a Mortal Kombat x Call of Duty crossover forever because I think the Fatalities would make great Finishing Moves and because it’s a very bloody, gory game. Almost too violent to make sense for Fortnite!)
New POIs include Crime City, melting snow in some areas, the Turret Train and other unannounced locations. New weapons include an unannounced shotgun and the Mammoth Pistol, including a likely Mythic version for Midas. The Rocket Ram is also returning as a Rocket Drill.
Beyond this, there should be plenty more to discover once the season goes live this Friday, including the new Victory Umbrella and Battle Pass rewards. I’ll update this post as more information surfaces, so stay tuned!

Yasunori Ogawa, Global President and CEO of Seiko Epson
Seiko Epson was founded in 1942 amid the sweeping natural vistas of Nagano Prefecture in Japan. Propelled by innovations like the world’s first quartz watch, the company has expanded into many fields over the decades since, including printers, projectors, and industrial robotics. Today, Seiko Epson is pursuing even loftier goals: to become both “carbon negative,” absorbing more of the greenhouse gas CO2 than it emits, and “underground resource free,” using no newly mined oil, metals, or other non-renewable resources, by 2050. We spoke to Seiko Epson Global President Yasunori Ogawa about why the company’s history, philosophy, and passion make these ambitious goals far from unattainable.
One of the prints in Hokusai’s Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji shows the eponymous peak from the far side of Lake Suwa in what is today Nagano Prefecture. In 1942, a miso warehouse in this tranquil setting was renovated into a small workshop for assembling timepieces.
“Lake Suwa in Shinano Province” from Hokusai’s Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji
Our founder Hisao Yamazaki saw that Suwa has pure water, clean air, and low humidity, even in summer, making it ideal for precision manufacturing,” says Yasunori Ogawa, President and CEO of Seiko Epson. “Yamazaki opened his timepiece workshop here in the hopes of making it a ‘Switzerland of the East.’ The bountiful natural environment of Suwa was thus both the inspiration for our founding and the lifeline of our development. Commitment to harmonious coexistence with nature is at the root of our corporate culture.”
One major example of Seiko Epson upholding this commitment came more than 30 years ago, after the 1987 adoption of the Montreal Protocol to limit the production and consumption of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme.
“Epson unveiled its ‘CFC-Free Declaration’ the following year,” Ogawa says. “The year 1988 thus became the first benchmark year for Epson’s environmental programs, when the company came together as one to take concrete action. By 1992, we had completely eliminated the use of controlled CFCs for cleaning at all our Japanese sites. In 1993, we achieved the same goal across the entire group worldwide.”

Seiko Epson is currently pursuing a plan it calls Environmental Vision 2050. This vision is centered around the twin goals of becoming not just carbon-neutral but carbon negative, and of using no newly mined underground resources, by 2050.
“One of our key initiatives to achieve carbon negativity is our switch to 100% renewable power for all sites globally,” says Ogawa. “To make power procurement more sustainable, we are now taking the next step by entering the field of biomass electricity generation ourselves.”
Seiko Epson committed to switching to renewably sourced electricity at all sites in March 2021. By December 2023 the transition was complete, and every Epson site around the globe was running on 100% renewable electricity. Seiko Epson was the first Japanese manufacturer to achieve this goal among the entire membership of RE100, an international framework for transitioning to renewable energy for commercial use.*
“We have been working toward decarbonization goals since 2018, gradually expanding the use of renewable electricity rooted in the regions around the world where our sites are located,” Ogawa says. “As a company, we are determined to contribute to the development of strong renewable energy markets around the world, and have absorbed some temporary cost increases as a forward investment in future generations. I think the true culture of Seiko Epson is reflected in the way we have accepted the scale of the global problem and come together as a company to change course at an early stage. It upholds the spirit of sincerity and diligence showed by my predecessors who, not satisfied with phasing CFCs out gradually, eliminated them entirely through force of will.”
Today, Seiko Epson feels a sense of mission to not only achieve its own environmental goals but also promote a broader transition to renewable energy across society. It plans to achieve this by operating its own biomass power plants, adding to total renewable energy capacity in Japan.
“The Seiko Epson Corporation Minami-Shinshu Biomass power plant, to be constructed in Iida, Nagano, is currently in the planning stages, and we hope to have it operational during fiscal 2026,” says Ogawa. “Biomass generation initiatives have become more prevalent in Japan in recent years, but the truth is that many operations procure their raw materials overseas. Seiko Epson owns a great deal of forested land, so we will also use biomass from regular forest-thinning operations. Our aim is to generate energy for local consumption from sustainable fuel procured locally.”
Another current focus for Seiko Epson is metal resource recirculation, one of the initiatives toward becoming underground resource free.
“We currently recycle metals at Epson Atmix (a Seiko Epson Group company), which manufactures high-function metal powders used in electrical components, chiefly for smartphones and automobiles,” says Ogawa. “Epson Atmix plans to bring its new factory for recycling metal resources online in June 2025.”
“Since our founding in 1942, Seiko Epson has embraced manufacturing and other challenges based on efficient, compact, and precise technology,” says Ogawa. “What is needed now is not simple material or economic enrichment, but also mindfulness and sustainable thinking. The words ‘efficient, compact, and precise’ go beyond technology. They also express a philosophy of eliminating waste, reducing impact on the environment, and making all our activities more purposeful.
“By continuing to pursue innovation and value creation through the fullest expression of efficiency, compactness, and precision, Seiko Epson is seeking to enrich people’s lives and create a better world. Our planet is crying out for true sustainability, which we believe must incorporate this mindfulness. We want to shape the future by partnering with people and companies who share our aspiration to achieve sustainable operations that both solve social problems and carry our businesses to greater success.”

See for yourself.
According to TechRadar, the pickle is a playable character named Big Dill, who initially robs the bank before being robbed himself. After the loot is passed among several other characters, it ends up before a wolfman mob boss, possibly the game’s antagonist.
And that was indeed Sub-Zero. Epic Games has confirmed that the character will be featured in the new Battle Pass, TechRadar reports, making him the first Mortal Kombat character to be added to the game.
