By TOMÁS MIER
Sabrina Carpenter‘s Grammy-winning Short ‘n Sweet era just got a whole lot sweeter. In time for Valentine’s Day, the pop star dropped the deluxe edition of her most recent album, which includes a reimagining of “Please Please Please” with none other than Dolly Parton.
“I have a fun idea, babe, maybe just stay inside/I know you’re craving some fresh air/But the ceiling fan is so nice,” Parton sings on the track, before the duo take on the catchy chorus.

By Rania Aniftos
Sabrina Carpenter‘s Short n’ Sweet era just got even sweeter. The 25-year-old pop star unveiled the deluxe edition of her Billboard 200 chart-topping album on Friday (Feb. 14) as the ultimate Valentine’s Day gift to her fans.

She announced the expanded version of the project earlier this month, just two days after winning her first-ever Grammys. Short n’ Sweet deluxe features a new version of “Please Please Please” featuring Dolly Parton, plus bonus tracks like “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman” and “Bad Reviews.”
“Yes that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton…. 💋💋💋she wouldn’t want me to swear but holy s–t!!!!!” Carpenter wrote alongside the social media announcement. Her original LP arrived in August and spent two weeks atop the Billboard 200, marking Carpenter’s first-ever No. 1 album.
“Please Please Please” became Carpenter’s first chart-topper on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and earned the star a Grammy nod for song of the year at the 2025 awards, though she ultimately lost to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” However, she didn’t go home empty handed. Of her six nominations at this year’s ceremony, her Short n’ Sweet lead single “Espresso” won best pop solo performance, while the album won best pop vocal album.
Carpenter wrapped the North American leg of her Short n’ Sweet tour in the fall, and is gearing up to take the trek to the United Kingdom and Europe, kicking off on March 3 in Dublin, Ireland.

Hear Dolly Parton Join Sabrina Carpenter On New “Please Please Please” Remix
Not two weeks after winning her first two Grammys, Sabrina Carpenter is dropping a deluxe edition of last year’s Short ‘N Sweet. It features bonus tracks “15 Minutes,” “Couldn’t Make It Any Harder,” “Busy Woman,” and “Bad Reviews.” There’s also a “Please Please Please” remix featuring the Dolly Parton. The remix leans much more traditional country than the original, and it gets a fun black-and-white video featuring both singers.
Carpenter’s Vogue cover also dropped this week and revealed that the singer’s label, Island, apparently thought “Please Please Please” should be Short N’ Sweet‘s lead single. Carpenter, however, personally vouched for “Espresso,” a bet that paid off in a huge way.
“There’s something about this song that, if I’d never heard it before, and I heard it live for the first time, I would understand it,” she said of the decision to debut “Espresso” at Coachella last year. “I was definitely being swayed in another direction, but I knew deep down that it was this song. I was afraid of disappointing people for, like, five minutes. And then I was like: No.”
