Tyrone Mings and Morgan Rogers will be assessed ahead of Tuesday night’s Premier League tilt against Crystal Palace.

Aston Villa travel to Selhurst Park on the back of a win versus Chelsea on Saturday, a game in which the aforementioned pair were substituted.

Unai Emery, who will have Axel Disasi available again after he was ineligible to face the Blues, spoke to the media about his squad selection on Monday afternoon.

When asked about Mings and Rogers, Emery said: “His (Mings) wishes that he’s always showing us is to play, even when he was telling me on Saturday that he was not good.

“When I subbed him, he was telling me he could continue playing. He’s a very important player for us.

“The idea is to have subs performing well as well when we are not having every player available to play.

“One of those is Morgan Rogers, but in case he is not available for tomorrow of course we are going to use another player and believe in our squad to help in the moment we will need them.”

Villa’s backline has been blighted by injuries in recent months, but Emery was able to deliver positive news in the form of a player who is set to be back training with the squad soon.

Pau Torres, who has been out since December with a metatarsal injury, will be rejoining the team in the coming weeks.

“We are progressively getting players with some players who are injured, and Axel Disasi can play tomorrow,” Emery said.

“Tyrone Mings, we’ll see how he’s feeling for tomorrow. Konsa after his comeback on Saturday felt good.

“Pau is close to adding to us, maybe this week maybe next week. When we are again recovering some players, we can feel strong again like we have to try to build because we’re conceding a lot of goals.”
