LIVE: India vs New Zealand – ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final
India’s spinners once again weave their magic to restrict a powerful New Zealand batting lineup to 251.
Bracewell moves to 49 with a loft over mid-off, but can’t get back on strike before the throw.
He brings up his fifty off the penultimate ball of the innings, coming off just 39 balls, with a paddle to deep backward square leg. He has delivered for his nation with these precious runs.
New Zealand finish their fifty overs with a competitive 251 for 7.
He opens the face to a fullish length wide of off stump.
The ball screams to the deep third boundary, and despite Jadeja trying to block it with his foot, ends up making contact with the rope.
Bracewell tonks to deep mid-wicket and tries to race back for the second in order to keep the strike for the next over.
Santner tries his best to get to the striker’s end, but is run out thanks to a flat, accurate throw from Kohli in the deep. Nathan Smith joins Bracewell, with the latter hoping to take his side to a 255-260 score.
Hardik is brought on for the penultimate over.
He delivers a shortish length to Bracewell, who pulls again over cow corner for half-a-dozen.
Bracewell shows a little ingenuity by paddling a fullish length from Shami down to the deep fine leg boundary.
Another 11 runs are plundered off the quick.
Just the three runs to start off his first two deliveries.
Bracewell lofts over deep extra-cover but is lucky not to hole out to any of the fielders in the vicinity.
The batters take four runs off the final Kuldeep over. New Zealand will be pretty pleased to get to 250 from here.
He has been brilliant today with figures of 2 for 36 in his nine overs.
Santner is able to get away a single to mid-wicket to get off strike.
Shami proves to be expensive again, despite taking the important wicket of Mitchell.
But he does allow 11 runs, so Rohit will wonder if he should switch to Hardik for the final over of pace.

Champions Trophy final – who, when & how to follow
India beat New Zealand when the sides met in the group stage
After 12 group-stage matches and two semi-finals, the Champions Trophy final is almost upon us.
India and New Zealand progressed from Group A together and will meet again in the showpiece game on Sunday after beating Australia and South Africa respectively in the semi-finals.
Here’s everything you need to know about the final, including how you can follow on the BBC.

Sunday, 9 March: Final – India v New Zealand, Dubai International Stadium, 09:00 GMT
The Champions Trophy final is scheduled for Sunday, 9 March. It will start at 09:00 GMT.
After India beat Australia in the last four, the final will take place in Dubai.
Had Rohit Sharma’s side failed to qualify it would have remained in Pakistan and been held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
There is a reserve day for the final if the match cannot be completed on Sunday, as there were for both semi-finals, although they were not required.
The reserve day for the final is Monday, 10 March (09:00).
There is a maximum of two hours of additional time available on both the original day and reserve day.
For all knockout games a minimum of 25 overs per side is needed to constitute a match. That is up from 20 in the group stages.
The International Cricket Council says “every effort will be made” to complete the match on the scheduled day, including reducing the overs to the minimum required.
If play starts on the scheduled day but a reserve day is then required, play will resume from where it stopped, rather than a new match starting.
Whether it is a 50-over or reduced-over match depends on whether play resumes in a reduced-over format on the original day.
The trophy will be shared if the final is washed out on both the original and reserve day.
As with the group stages, any tie would see a super over played.
