Mega Millions winning numbers for February 21 drawing: Jackpot rises to $165 million
The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to $165 million for Friday’s drawing after no one won the top prize on Tuesday night.
If someone matches all six numbers, they can choose a one-time cash payment of $75.4 million. The numbers were drawn just after 11 p.m. ET on Friday, and we have the results below.
The most recent big Mega Millions winner was a lucky lottery ticket holder in Arizona, who struck gold on Jan. 18, winning a $113 million jackpot.
According to the lottery, only four tickets matched all six Mega Millions numbers in 2024 – the fewest jackpots won in a calendar year since the game began in 2002.

To play the Mega Millions, you have to buy a ticket. You can do this at a variety of locations, including your local convenience store, gas station, or even grocery store. In some states, Mega Millions tickets can be bought online.
Once you have your ticket, you need to pick six numbers. Five of them will be white balls with numbers from 1 to 70. The gold Mega Ball ranges from 1 to 25.
If you’re feeling especially unlucky, or don’t want to go through the hassle of picking, you can ask for a “Quick Pick” or an ”Easy Pick.” These options let the computer randomly generate numbers for you.
For an extra dollar, players can add the “Megaplier,” which increases non-jackpot prizes by two, three, four, or five times. The Megaplier is drawn before six Mega Millions numbers are drawn.

A major Mega Millions winning ticket was sold in La Quinta. Next came Coachella.
It seems Coachella Valley has seen a bit of luck in the past week.
A Stater Bros. Markets on state Route 111 in La Quinta sold a winning ticket in the Feb. 14 Mega Millions drawing worth nearly $1.5 million, the California Lottery said a news release Saturday.
The winning ticket matched the first five numbers in the Mega Millions drawing and is worth $1,499,864. According to the news release, the grocery store earns a bonus of nearly $7,500 for selling it. The winning numbers were 11, 19, 31, 49, 56, and Mega Ball 16.
More recently, an Arco ampm at 52138 Harrison St., Coachella, sold the top winning ticket in Wednesday’s SuperLotto Plus draw, a prize of $33,186, according to the California Lottery. The winning numbers were 1, 4, 12, 15, 28 and Mega number 15.
It comes as a Stater Bros. Markets on Ramon Road in Cathedral City sold a Mega Millions ticket that won more than $2.1 million in a draw last March, the California Lottery announced in 2024. In September, an Arco ampm on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City sold a Mega Millions ticket that won a prize of $2,233,779.
In Mega Millions, the odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega Millions number is 1 in 302,575,350, according to the California Lottery. The SuperLotto Plus odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number are 1 in 41,416,353.

On Christmas Eve 2024, the jackpot hit $1 billion — the 12th time in history that a Mega Millions or Powerball lottery jackpot hit that milestone. On Friday, Dec. 27, the jackpot shot up to $1.22 billion. The next day, the Florida Lottery reported one ticket in California matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball. And less than a month later, a much smaller Mega Millions jackpot was claimed again, when a ticket in Arizona won the $113 million jackpot on Friday, Jan. 17.
The Mega Millions jackpot has rolled over nine times since being reset in January and now sits at $165 million for this Friday’s drawing.

After less than a month of rolling over, the $113 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot was won on Friday, Jan. 17, when a ticket in Arizona matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Prizes for Florida Lottery must be claimed within 180 days (six months) from the date of the drawing. To claim a single-payment cash option, a winner has within the first 60 days after the applicable draw date to claim it.
The odds of winning are pretty low. According to the Mega Millions site, players have a 1 in 302,575,350 chance to match all five white balls plus the gold Mega Ball. Prizes range from $2 (for matching the Mega Ball) to the grand prize jackpot, which varies.
According to Florida Lottery’s website, winners cannot remain anonymous: “Florida law mandates that the Florida Lottery provide records containing information such as the winner’s name, city of residence; game won, date won, and amount won to any third party who requests the information.”
However, the site states, the “names of lottery winners claiming prizes of $250,000 or greater will be temporarily exempt from public disclosure for 90 days from the date the prize is claimed, unless otherwise waived by the winner.”
Lottery experts and lawyers have said there are ways to remain anonymous if you win.
As of Feb. 21, 2025, these are the largest Mega Millions prizes in the history of the game, according to megamillions.com.
