Reddit is experiencing outages again
The new outages follow some that apparently happened yesterday.

Following some apparent outages yesterday, Reddit is dealing with more issues Friday evening.
When logged in on my desktop browser, Reddit won’t load at all — I just run into error pages. In an incognito window, the site loads, though it seems to load slower than usual. I was also able to load the site on mobile Safari while logged out and after I logged in.
Reddit’s status page says in a 7:58PM ET message that “We’re experiencing an elevated level of errors and are currently looking into the issue.”
Downdetector shows a huge spike that, as I write this, is topping out at around 80,000 outage reports. The spike started to go up shortly after 7:30PM ET.
The company didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.
Yesterday, the platform reportedly dealt with “international outages,” according to global internet monitor NetBlocks. I personally didn’t run into any issues during those outages.

About 60,000 users were reporting issues as of around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to DownDetector.com – a website the reports on internet issues.
About 75% of users reporting issues identified the Reddit app as the issue, according to DownDetector.
There was no information from Reddit about any issues. The Reddit status page is showing the website and app as “operational.”

Reddit faces global outage: Users struggle to post, profile updates and feed access issues
Reddit users around the world are reporting widespread issues with the platform, causing significant disruptions to their experience. Many are unable to post comments, update their profile pictures, or load their feeds, with users in cities like Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad in India, along with Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles in the United States, facing the brunt of the problem. These difficulties have led many to turn to alternative platforms like Downdetector and social media to discuss their issues.
Despite the widespread outages, Reddit has not officially acknowledged the cause or provided a timeline for when the problems will be resolved. The platform’s status page still claims that all systems are “operational,” and no incidents have been reported as of Thursday. However, given the widespread nature of the issues, many users remain frustrated as they wait for an official response.

If you are experiencing similar problems, Reddit encourages users to report the issues. This may assist their technical team in investigating the cause and working toward a solution. While Reddit remains silent on the specifics of the outage, it is likely that efforts are already underway to restore normal service.

In other Reddit news, the r/WhitePeopleTwitter community, which was banned after its members made threats against staff at Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has returned online, according to a Business Insider report. The subreddit was temporarily shut down after Musk shared a screenshot showing members of the community discussing the identities of some of his DOGE staffers, with some comments threatening violence. Musk later stated that the Reddit users had “broken the law.”
After two weeks of inaccessibility, the subreddit was reinstated earlier this week. While users can now post publicly again, the comment section remains locked. The community’s moderators have implemented new guidelines, including a ban on harassment, bullying, and violence. They also encourage users to “attack ideas, not people.”

Reddit, in its efforts to maintain a civil space for discussion, had previously warned the subreddit’s moderators after discovering content that violated its rules. According to the company, steps like pop-up reminders are taken before banning communities, and the goal is to ensure Reddit remains a platform where ideas and perspectives can be exchanged.

The process of report making has transformed with Notebook LM. Commonly used documents are easily generated with a click of a button. You will have to try it to believe it.
And who says you can only generate text files with notebook LM. You can create actual podcasts in the form of a conversation between two people for you to consume the information on the go. This takes a few minutes to synthesize but the final output is almost indistinguishable from a human-generated podcast. There is not much control of the user on the AI voices that are used though. We are almost nearing the end of February and Apple is yet to release the iOS 18.4 beta. As we are eagerly waiting to get our hands on the new big iOS update, several rumours surrounding the release have been circulating over the internet. But, why are we addressing iOS 18.4 as a big update? Well, it is expected that Apple may roll out the awaited Siri capabilities with Apple Intelligence that will make the voice assistant smarter. Now, there are some rumours going around that Apple could delay the iOS 18.4 release due to some engineering issues. Therefore, know when the stable iOS 18.4 could be released.

iPhone users are currently waiting for the major iOS 18.4 update and Apple is dropping several hints for its release. For the past few months, Apple has been teasing the multiple language support for Apple Intelligence which will be rolled out in early April. These languages will include Chinese, English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. Therefore, we expect that the the iOS 18.4 release could take place in early April as hinted by Apple. While this confirmation gives hope for a timely rollout of the iOS 18.4 update, but we may not get the awaited Siri upgrade.

Previously, we reported that Apple is preparing for a major Siri upgrade with Apple Intelligence. It was suggested that iOS 18.4 will introduce Siri 2.0 with three advanced capabilities, On-screen awareness, personal context, and cross-app action. However, Apple is reported to be facing some engineering problems for running these Siri features smoothly. This raises concerns over the iOS 18.4 delay or Apple may not launch the Siri upgrade altogether. Therefore, we will have to wait for the upcoming beta versions to know what Apple has been planning for future iOS updates.
Apart from these major upgrades, Apple may also bring new UI changes, features and bug fixes to make the iPhone run smoothly.
