IND VS BAN LIVE SCORE, ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Updates: Mohammed Shami returned to an ICC tournament with a five-wicket haul as Bangladesh rode on Towhid Hridoy’s maiden international century to recover from a nightmarish start and posted 228 all out in their group A match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Thursday.

On the day, Shami also picked up his 200th ODI wicket. Opting to bat, Bangladesh were off to a disastrous start and slipped 35 for five with Shami and left-arm spinner Axar Patel (2/43) doing the early damage.

Axar would have had a hat-trick if India skipper Rohit Sharma had not dropped a regulation catch from the blade of Jaker Ali (68 off 114 balls) at first slip. Hridoy in the company of Ali steadied the Bangladesh innings with a sixth-wicket partnership of 154 runs. Hardik Pandya dropped Towhid at mid-off when the batter was on 23.

Leg spin does the trick for Bangladesh as Virat Kohli, trying to cut Rishad Hossain holes out for Soumya Sarkar for 22. Big wicket for Bangladesh IND 112/2 (22.4)

It has been so far so good for India with no major headaches, save the Rohit Sharma dismissal. After the powerplay, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill are taking their time in the middle. Clearly the pitch has slowed down a bit. Another side of India’s slow chase is the fact that NRR. Less wickets fallen also means India’s NRR goes up. IND 97/1 (19)

The run rate has gone down for Indian after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma. In fact, Virat Kohli is taking his time in the middle. IND 83/1 (14.4)

OUTTT!!!! Taskin Ahmed finally breaks the stands as Rohit Sharma skies a short of a length delivery for Rishad Hossain to take a simple catch. The Indian captain goes for 41. IND 69/1 (9.5)

Tanzim Hasan Sakib comes into the attack and Shubman Gill welcomes him with a four and a six. 14 runs came from that over. IND 65/0 (9)

Looks like Rohit Sharma has gotten in the groove just like he did in the ODI series against England. The Indian captain smashes the likes of Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed for a flurry of boundaries as the Men in Blue races to 51/0 in 8 overs.

11000 runs in ODIs for Rohit Sharma with a lofted four towards the on-side. The Indian captain thus becomes the fourth Indian after Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to reach the milestone. IND 22/0 (4)

Welcome back in the chase. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are at the crease. Taskin Ahmed will open the attack for Bangladesh. A four from Gill to start the over. IND 5/0 (1)

Harshit Rana takes the final wicket of Towhid Hridoy as Bangladesh are all out for 228. India need 229 runs to win.

Hundred for Towhid Hridoy when chip were down for Bangladesh. What a knock by the youngster. It is also his maiden ODI hundred. Five wickets for Mohammed Shami as Taskin Ahmed holes out to Shreyas Iyer. BAN 228/9 (48/4)

Agony for Towhid Hridoy as the Bangladesh batter is in tremendous pain due to cramps. The right-hander slaps a Mohammed Shami delivery before going down on the ground. Physios are on the ground.

More wickets for India as Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana add one each to their tally. Rishad Hossain and Tanzim Hasan Sakib are the Bangladesh batters to get out. BAN 215/8 (46.2)

OUTTTT!!!! India finally get the breakthrough as Jaker Ali tries to drag the slower ball, but is caught by Virat Kohli in the deep. Ali goes back for 68 as Shami gets his 200th ODI wicket. BAN 189/6 (42.4)

Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan is in the house as a brand ambassador of the tournament. Meanwhile, neither spin nor the pacers have been able to break this partnership. From being 35/5 at one stage to take Bangladesh past 160, the duo of Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy have defied all odds. Both Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya may be blaming themselves for the dropped catches. BAN 165/5 (40)

Fifties for both Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy as they rebuild Bangladesh after early setback. The duo also completed a 100-run stand. BAN 142/5 (37)

50-run stand between Jaker Ali and Towhid Hridoy – much needed for Bangladesh as they inch towards 100-run mark. BAN 95/5 (26)

DOWNNNNN AGAIN!!! After Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya drops a simple catch off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. Towhid Hridoy tries to o over the mid-off but didn’t get the elevation it the ball goes straight to Hardik Pandya. But the all-rounder drops it. Rohit Sharma just watches on glumly. BAN 79/5 (20)

It’s been a tough day for Bangladesh in the middle. They crawled their way past fifty before Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali put some resistance with a 30-run stand so far. BAN 65/5 (16)

Spin comes in for the first time in the game. Axar Patel is brought into the attack. Tanzid Hasan gets a faint edge and KL Rahul goes up in the air. Axar looks confused before the umpire raises his finger. Huge blow to Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim comes out to bat. OUTTT!!!! Two in two for India as Axar is on a hattrick. Rahim goes for a duck. Rhit Sharma drops a sitter off Jaker Ali. Axar is robbed of his hattrick. BAN 35/5 (8.3)

OUTTTT!!!! Shubman Gill takes a brilliant outstretched catch at the slips as Bangladesh lose Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the seventh over. Bangladesh are in real big trouble with three down inside the powerplay. Second wicket for Mohammed Shami. Towhid Hridoy comes in. BAN 26/3 (6.2)

India are the most successful side in the history of the ICC Champions Trophy with 18 wins for far since its inception in 2000. Two more wins will make India the first team to record 20 wins in the tournaments. BAN 13/2 (4)

Mohammed Shami is just two wickets shy of reaching 200 ODI wickets. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja is playing his 200th ODI for India. Meanwhile, Tanzid Hasan is taking on Shami with two beautiful drives on the off side. BAN 11/2 (3)

OUTTTT!!!! Two wickets in two overs for India as Harshit Rana strikes on his Champions Trophy debut. Najmul Hossain Shanto goes for a wide drive for Virat Kohli to take a simple catch. Captain departs for duck. BAN 2/2 (1.4)

OUTTTTT!!!!!!! Mohammed Shami strikes in the first over as Soumya Sarkar gets an inside edge and KL Rahul does the rest behind the wickets. BAN 1/1 (1)

Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar are at the crease. Mohammed Shami will open the attack for India.

We would like to bat first. Looks a good wicket so we want to put runs on the board. We have play good cricket today and the boys are confident. Three spinners, two spinners for us.

I would have fielded first. We have played a few years back here so we felt ball comes on better under lights. All looking good. Everyone is fit and fine to go. Let’s hope we start well. There is no looking back, every game becomes very important in this tournament. Only Varun misses out from the last ODI we played, Jadeja comes back and Arshdeep misses and Shami comes back.

Rohit Sharma and Najmul Hossain Shanto walk out in the middle for the toss. Notably, Rohit is playing his 17th ICC tournament while his teammate Virat Kohli is playing his 16th. Shanto wins the toss and Bangladesh will bat first.

Nahid Rana will be Bangladesh’s potential weapon against Indian batters. To add to that there is Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman too. However, Bangladesh’s batting is their weaker link here.

Who is India going to pick between Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav? Rohit Sharma is currently addressing the team huddle at the moment. While Kuldeep comes in after an injury layoff, Varun has been brilliant with the ball in recent times.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli on verge of achieving incredible records. Rohit is just 12 runs shy of becoming only fourth Indian to 11000 ODI runs while Virat needs 37 runs to join Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara at 14000 ODI runs.

For everyone who missed it, Pakistan have lost their first match against New Zealand in Group A on Wednesday. One more loss for Pakistan and the hosts are out of the tournament.

In Dubai, 13 ODIs have been played with nine won by the chasing teams. The average score batting first is 181.

Meanwhile, wife Sanjana Ganesan provided an update about Jasprit Bumrah, stating the India pacer is currently training at NCA. “He is okay, training at NCA,” Ganesan said.

According to AccuWeather.com, the temperature in Dubai is currently at 26 degrees and is sunny. There humidity is 30% with no chances of rain.

Last year, when we played India in Bangladesh, we have some good memories from then. But that is past, I think if we play well tomorrow and execute our plan, we will have a good match tomorrow.

For the first time in 21 years, Bangladesh will be playing an ICC tournament without Shakib Al Hasan. The last time Bangladesh entered an ICC tournament without Shakib was in 2004 Champions Trophy.

Rohit Sharma holds the record for most centuries in ICC tournaments – 8. Sourav Ganguly, Chris Gayle and Sachin Tendulkar follow Rohit with 7 tons each.

If it’s going to be overcast, we have the bowling arsenal to combat that. If there are overhead conditions helping the bowlers, we have the bowlers to exploit that. And if we bat in those overhead conditions, the batters know exactly what to do.

Believe it or not, rain has interrupted the ongoing tennis tournament in the city. Although rain is expected on the matchday morning, nothing severe for the rest of the day. However, the second half of the day is expected to have a cloud cover.

Rains are very rare in Dubai. But in the last few days, Dubai has experienced rains. The conditions are likely to be overcast today also. Toss is going to be a bog factor for both teams.

The last time India and Bangladesh played an ODI was during the 2023 ODI World Cup. It was the same match where Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury and was ruled out of the tournament. India had won the game.

Dubai has been a happy hunting ground for India. In Dubai, India have played six ODIs, all during the 2018 Asia Cup, winning five and one ending in a tie.

India will miss their pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah due to injury. Bangladesh will be without their experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is unavailable due to suspected bowling action issues.

Historically, India have dominated the IND vs BAN fixture, but Bangladesh have grown into a formidable team in recent years. Their improved performances and rising talent make them far from the underdogs they once were. Mustafizur Rahman’s variations, Taskin Ahmed’s pace and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s spin could challenge India’s strong batting unit.

There are 4 teams in Group A – India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. On February 19, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 60 runs. The Black Caps are now leading the table with 2 points. Their Net Run Rate (NRR) is +1.200.

India: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh

Iyer comes to the crease and faces two balls before Hossain wraps up his over.

More trouble for Kohli against leg spin.

He falls for 22 after he cuts one straight to Sarkar at backward point.

Virat Kohli c Soumya Sarkar b Rishad Hossain 22

The floodlights are now in full effect at the Dubai Cricket Stadium.

Hossain’s third delivery beats the bat, spinning away from Kohli’s outside edge.

22.3 overs. India 112-1

Kohli hits out off the final ball of the Miraz over as he flicks one through square leg for his first boundary of the match.

Hats off to Hossain, that was a nice over of spin. Just four from it.

Hossain is into his third over of the evening in Dubai.

Just two singles from it so far.

20.3 overs. India 103-1

This feels a little like when Jaker and Hridoy were batting for Bangladesh earlier today.

The batsmen are taking singles but not really hitting out.

It’s effective, though. The 100 is up for India.

Four from the over as India creep towards the 100 mark.

Another solid over from Miraz.

India have plenty of time to chase down these runs, and they are certainly playing like that is the case.

Just 11 runs conceded from 3.3 overs so far for Miraz.

Impressive stuff.

17.3 overs. India 93-1
