It appears a foot amputation hasn’t changed LaVar Ball.
The father of pro basketball players Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball was acting like his usual self in what appears to be his first video appearance since having his foot amputated due to a serious medical issue.
The video was posted by the TikTok user Primby, and shows Ball say, “Everyone heard what happened and y’all can take my foot, but you know what you can’t take? That Primby account.” He finishes the video by singing along to LiAngelo’s recent hit single “Tweaker.”
The whole thing feels very LaVar Ball.
Details around the issue that led to Ball’s amputation remain scarce, though TMZ reports he is doing well and is in good spirits. One picture of him after the procedure shows him all smiles with his right leg bandaged up.
LaMelo, Ball’s youngest son, also posted a picture with his father on a scooter to support his leg.
Ball has been famous, or infamous, for nearly a decade now. He rose to notoriety as his eldest son Lonzo reached the NBA, and quickly became known for a series of outrageous statements, such as claiming he could have beaten Michael Jordan 1-on-1.
That behavior didn’t diminish as LiAngelo and LaMelo pushed for their own NBA careers, the latter doing so successfully. Some bold business decisions have followed, such as his attempt at creating a basketball league that happened to include his two younger sons, a family reality show on Facebook and his would-be shoe empire at Big Baller Brand.
LaVar Ball Has Foot Amputated After Medical Issue
LaVar Ball — the father of basketball stars Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball — had his foot amputated after suffering a serious medical issue, TMZ Sports has learned.
We’re told the Ball family patriarch underwent a recent procedure to have his right foot removed … but despite it all, he is in great spirits and doing well.
LaVar made a name for himself with his grandiose plans for his sons — he created the Big Baller Brand, which developed signature shoes for all three hoopers.
LaVar made countless headlines for his bold declarations about his kids, but has received praise following their success — Zo and Melo are stars in the Association, and Gelo’s music career is taking off.
He has distanced himself from the spotlight in recent years … but has continued to be his sons’ biggest fan from afar.
LaVar was a college sports star in his own right — he played at Cal State-Los Angeles … and spent time with the New York Jets and Carolina Panthers organizations.
The Ball brothers have not yet spoken about their father’s health publicly.

LaVar Ball isn’t taking his foot amputation too hard.
The famous NBA dad was in good spirits in a TikTok video posted by Primby, saying, “Everyone heard what happened and y’all can take my foot, but you know what you can’t take? That Primby account,” LaVar said with a smile on his face.
He finished the video by singing the chorus of his son LiAngelo’s song “Tweaker.”

The social media post came just days after it was revealed that the Big Baller Brand co-founder underwent a procedure to have his right foot removed.
At the time, TMZ reported LaVar was in great spirits and doing well.
After the news broke, LaVar’s son, Hornets star LaMelo Ball, posted a picture of the pair before a game against the Lakers on Instagram.
“Seen my dawg b4 da game it was only right i love u pops 5L and after,” LaMelo wrote on the social media platform.
LaVar, 57, was an outspoken advocate for his three sons — LaMelo, LiAngelo and Lonzo, who plays for the Bulls — early in their playing careers, though he has taken a step back from the public eye in recent years.
Over the years, LaVar has launched his own basketball league (Junior Basketball Association), taken shots at Michael Jordan and LeBron James, among many others, and appeared frequently on ESPN’s airwaves.
