Arthur Fils vs Lorenzo Musetti Prediction
It has not been a great start to 2025 for Arthur Fils but the talented 20-year-old often needs that edge in his game to perform and he has not really had that so far. He was written off by many coming into this tournament based on his form and many thought Gabriel Diallo would beat him in his opening match but Fils produced the goods and won 6-2 6-2.
It was a decent performance considering he did not serve a single ace, but Diallo only won eight points on Fils’ serve which shows how poor he was.
Fils now takes on Lorenzo Musetti and he can expect a much stiffer test against the Italian. Musetti had a tough match against Roman Safiullin on Friday but won 7-5 5-7 6-2 in what was an entertaining encounter.
They have met once before and Musetti won that clash on clay in Monte Carlo last year. This will be a totally different match though.
We struggle to see either player grabbing control of this match and dominating and it will be quite a battle. We see a long drawn-out match here and with no preference on either player, we like the look of overs in game betting.

There are plenty of all-seeded matchups on Sunday’s Indian Wells schedule, with Lorenzo Musetti facing Arthur Fils and Holger Rune going up against Ugo Humbert. Spots in the fourth round of this Masters 1000 event are at stake.
(20) Arthur Fils vs. (15) Lorenzo Musetti
Musetti and Fils will be going head-to-head for the second time in their careers when they collide in round three of the BNP Paribas Open on Sunday evening. Their only previous encounter came last spring on the red clay of Monte-Carlo, where Musetti prevailed 6-3, 7-5.
However, Musetti was on fire throughout the spring and summer of 2024 and things have not been the same so far this year. The 16th-ranked Italian has been dealing with a calf injury that forced him to withdraw from his second match in Buenos Aires and he missed the remainder of the February swing. Musetti at least managed to get past Roman Safiullin 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 on Friday, but Fils had a much easier time in a 6-2, 6-2 rout of Gabriel Diallo. Although the 20-year-old Frenchman has endured some physical issues issues of his own in recent months, he looks further along in the recovery process than Musetti.

Up next for Rune is a fourth meeting with Humbert, who is 0-3 in the head-to-head series. However, they have not faced each other since January of 2023 and since that time the 19th-ranked Frenchman has played by far the best tennis of his career. Dating back to the start of 2024 he owns three ATP titles and has reached five finals. Humbert boasts an 11-3 record this season after easing past Kei Nishiori 6-3, 6-4 in his opening match in the desert, so his momentum appears to be continuing. On a relatively low-bouncing hard court, an in-form Humbert should have the edge right now.
