Rockets vs. Bucks odds, score prediction, start time: 2025 NBA picks, Feb. 25 best bets by proven model

Image

The Houston Rockets will host the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA action on Tuesday night and both teams are firmly in the playoff hunt in their respective conferences. Houston is 35-22 on the season and currently sits fifth in the West standings, while Milwaukee is 32-24 and is fourth in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks have won six of their last 10 head-to-head matchups against the Rockets, but Houston is 7-3 against the spread in those contests.

Tipoff from the Toyota Center in Houston is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the Rockets have covered the spread in each of their last five home games against the Bucks. This time around, Houston is a 3.5-point favorite in the latest Rockets vs. Bucks odds from SportsLine consensus, while the over/under for total points scored is 226.5. Before making any Bucks vs. Rockets picks, you’ll want to see the NBA predictions from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in betting profit for $100 players on its top-rated NBA picks over the past six-plus seasons. The model enters Week 19 of the 2024-25 NBA season on a sizzling 147-106 roll on all top-rated NBA picks dating back to last season, returning nearly $4,000. It’s also an outstanding 18-10 (64%) on top-rated spread picks this season. Anyone following at sportsbooks and on betting apps could have seen huge returns.

Now, the model has set its sights on Houston vs. Milwaukee and just locked in its picks and NBA predictions. You can head to SportsLine now to see its picks. Here are several NBA betting lines for Bucks vs. Rockets:

Houston is coming off a 124-115 loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday and rebounding was the primary issue. Utah enjoyed a 58-41 advantage on the glass and had a 32.7% offensive rebounding percentage. However, Alperen Sengun did have a productive night with 27 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists while Jalen Green added a double-double of his own with 25 points and 10 assists.

The Rockets have only covered the spread once in their last eight games but they have won seven of their last nine against Central Division opponents. They also covered in their only previous matchup this season with the Bucks, losing 101-100 on Nov. 18 but covering as 3.5-point road underdogs. See which team to pick here.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee is on a four-game winning streak after beating the Miami Heat 120-113 on Sunday. Damian Lillard had 28 points and eight assists while Giannis Antetokounmpo had 23 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. The Bucks also limited the Heat to just 9-for-31 from the 3-point line.

Antetokounmpo is listed on the injury report for Tuesday with a calf injury but he is probable to play. However, Lillard has been removed from the injury report entirely after battling a hamstring injury during the All-Star break. Milwaukee has covered the spread in four of its last six games entering tonight’s matchup with Houston. See which team to pick here.

The model has simulated Milwaukee vs. Houston 10,000 times and the results are in. It is leaning Under the total, projecting 215 combined points. It also says one side of the spread hits well over 60% of the time. You can only see the NBA picks at SportsLine.

So who wins Bucks vs. Rockets, and which side of the spread hits well over 60% of the time? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of the Rockets vs. Bucks spread you need to jump on, all from the model that is on a 147-106 roll on top-rated NBA picks, and find out.

Houston Rockets vs. Milwaukee Bucks game preview

Houston tries to bounce back after an embarrassing loss in Utah

On February 1, Fred VanVleet sprained his ankle. Since then, the Houston Rockets are 3-5 with two of those wins coming against teams outside of the playoff picture.

FVV has been the subject of a lot of ire from Rockets fans during his time here. He’s shot Houston out of a few games, and some nights it feels like he’s barely there. His shooting numbers are down across the board. The only worse shooters on the Rockets by basically any metric? Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard. Alperen Sengun is having such a bad shooting season that Xiane and I have given him a quota of four missed “bunnies” per game. And Sengun is still shooting better from the field (again, pick eFG%, TS%, it doesn’t matter) than Fred.

What’s even worse are that his assists are down. That’s a bit understandable since others on the Rockets have taken steps forward this season and FVV’s usage rate has dropped. But then you would expect his turnovers to be down too, and they’re right in line with last season.

Diana Taurasi is a force. Her accolades span pages and pages, she’s largely considered the greatest of all time in the WNBA, and she’s one of the most fun trash-talkers to watch play. Skylar Diggins-Smith, also being a force, a trash talker, and an All-Star guard, seemed like a great fit next to Taurasi on the Phoenix Mercury. “Seemed” is the key word here.

So I just spent two paragraphs bashing Fred VanVleet just to say this: the Rockets desperately need him. The veteran presence running the offense, the player who doesn’t panic when things get tough, and the guy that can hit the rainbow 3 when given a grenade are all desperately needed with this version of the Rockets. If you haven’t seen the regression of the team on both sides of the ball without Fred, then you haven’t been watching. This team relies on Fred so much that the hope that Rockets fans had that Houston might be able to negotiate a cheaper AAV contract extension with him this offseason seems gone. If I were Fred’s agent, I’d come in asking for a maximum.

And Houston needs Fred back so badly that they would have to consider it.

Oh yeah, tonight’s opponent is the Milwaukee Bucks. You already know Damian Lillard is going to go off. Chalk this one up as a loss and get ready for a nationally televised game on Wednesday against the Wemby-less San Antonio Spurs.

We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
